Sarah’s Blog

More proof that I’m okay.

***********

More importantly, Sarah’s spending next semester in Fiji and needs a domain name for her blog which she promises to update. Got ideas? I like Jen’s – southseasarah – but Sarah, though she believes her life at Union too boring to write about, might continue her musings after she returns. Then there’s Goose’s offering, Tardiffstravels.

  2. Tardiff Tracks? Track Tardiff? I like tracks because it can translate to whatever road she takes, whether she is traveling abroad or changing careers, or getting married and having babies. Maybe treds does the same thing without being so harsh?

  3. Sarah – Oh I hope you do keep up a travel blog… gotta keep “the village” fed with stories. We have an insatiable appetite.

And, thanks Mike, for the dose of Bruce.

  6. wow! i knew everyone here would produce great ideas! i love the idea of using ‘bula’ to incorporate fijian culture right into the title. also, since i’m doing anthropological field work my purpose is actually to make ‘fiji findings’. and jen, you’re definitely onto something with ‘tracks’ because i can continue to use it into the future and because it reminds us that life is an adventure,… though i did go a bit numb at your mention of babies. i particularly like STories because it is subtly personalized and general for future use. thank you all for your help, and thank you micheal for for posting  this on your blog for me. i have some thinking to do!

  7. How about bulasarahs-fijifindings-and-other-STories? 🙂

Cool that the suggestions actually fit several of your motivations!

Just checked, and stories.com (and its .net and .org variants) are taken. All the others are available.

How about fijistories.com? That’s available too!

  8. Hi Sarah,

The reason I know about “Bula” is that in a previous incarnation I visited Fiji and went with a Fijian man (much Bula! Bula!) on a small sailboat across 25 mi of open ocean to the Yasawa island group. (Yowee!) There I stayed in a grass shack provided by the Chief (many, many Bulas!), and snorkeled for dinner fish, helped make Kava from the roots, and with the local men, sitting around a grass sheet, shared the Kava drink in the traditional way — each took a sip of Kava out of a coconut bowl, after shouting “Bula!”, and passed it on to the next participant. Being an astronomer, I was asked to tell about the stars. What a wonderful experience! I wish the same for you. Bula!

  9. My wife and i got absolutely pfueceal when Ervin managed to deal with his basic research while using the ideas he got through the web page. It’s not at all simplistic to simply happen to be freely giving procedures which some people might have been making money from. We do understand we’ve got the website owner to appreciate for that. The entire explanations you’ve made, the simple web site menu, the relationships you will assist to create it’s got mostly fabulous, and it’s really letting our son and us reckon that the matter is awesome, and that is exceedingly serious. Thanks for all!
