  1. 12 our of 16 but I missed three I should have known which boosts my score to 15 out of 16 but I guessed at six which brings me back down to 6 out of 16.

  2. It said I missed the first couple, but upon checking the answers I know I answered them correctly. Then I remembered that I left my computer for about 30 minutes and then resumed the test. Must have a time limit on correct answers. I still got 80% right, but I missed Times Square!

  3. Anon, can we compete for lowest score? By Mike’s reasoning, I got 3 of 16 (Hoover Dam, Niagra, and Statue of Liberty). OK, so I wagged (wag’ed? El Kib, how would you make “WAG” into a verb?) on 6 others (and got them right). But who else won a plasma tv? Oops, I let it time out; I’ll never know what the asterisk meant.

  4. WAG or SWAG (Scientific wild-ass guess) worked for me. Eliminating 2 of the 4 possible locations was pretty easy most of the time. (SWAGging got me through grad school, especially the French reading exam.)

  5. Well, the approach is scientific–narrowing down the possibilities, looking for un-obvious clues, or comparing previous questions–just like scientists approach nature’s secrets.

  6. Wagged. But I all but didn’t to tie rakkity. I guessed wrong on # 2 only because I made the mistaken assumption that the correct answer couldn’t be photographed, and I won’t say on what other I guessed wrong lest someone like LaRad cease to speak to me.
