You don’t normally see downed power lines on fire – Central St. a couple blocks from our house.

Woof! Any idea how it got there?

The guy who I share a cubicle with at work lives in Acton. His wife called him yesterday to say the power was out. I wondered if it was anywhere near you guys.

We lucked out temporarily. Our lights were fine until some Enstar guy arrived at the pole at the end of our driveway, and then turned off the power, which included 136 Central.

There don’t seem to be any downed trees. I presume they’re out of view. You must have shot that picture from quite a distance with maximum zoom.

What I learned from Goose was (1) Mike was annoyed that the police would not let him get closer so he could get a better photo for the blog! and (2) that they both learned the technique for turning power off on the entire street. So surely there will be more advenures ahead!

I love that you got the emergency fire box in the foreground. Made me snicker. Perfect placement.

Kudos for the attempt, Mike. It would have been fun to see that fireball up close!

Does the fact that the guy in the photo is walking briskly away from the powerline give anyone else pause and make you ask, why the hell is Michael trying to get closer?  Oh and look the ground is nice and wet too.  I’m suprised Michael didn’t go home to get his hairdryer just to see if he could get it to run while standing in a puddle.
