Wow … Lush, exotic, different. These images convey a sense of serenity and solitude (either or both of which could be an artifact, I know). Good eye, and what wonders to cast that eye upon! Thanks!
michael
How similar to where you grew up?
adam
Not very similar — we were at the center of Venezuela, at the river confluence of the mighty and muddy Orinoco (very much like the Mississipi) and goodly CaronÃ, where the llanos (plains, pronounced YAHnos) were giving way to rolling jungle — the mountains are in the northwest and southern portions, and only the latter resembles this terrain.

Enchanted is the perfect word to describe this forest. Just beautiful.
rakkity
All the pictures are wonderful, but I particularly love the enchanted polyeptis forest. Can I save that one for my desktop (if you please)?
BirdBrain
Rakkity…of course you can save that for your desktop…I like it too. Michael made it look much better than I took it…
michael
At least we don’t have to wonder if rakkity’s still alive.
