Call it a hip fracture that won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t require surgery. <\/p>\n<p>Flo sat (laid, squirmed, shifted) in the emergency room from 11 AM until 8 PM when a room finally became available. That kind of torture would break a far younger soul, but not Flo who had the admitting nurse on her floor laughing so hard she wanted to work a double shift.<\/p>\n<p>The list of intake questions were endless with some those you would expect:  \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Have you had an MI?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d or \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Do you have arthritis?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d or \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Have you had surgery?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>And those you might not:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Does anyone threaten you or cause you to fear for your safety?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153What time do you go to bed?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Seven thirty?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Seven thirty?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d  Eileen, the admitting nurse, Diane and I all repeated in unison.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Yes, seven thirty. The place is dead.
