I am told I wear my heart on my sleeve. But this is ridiculous. Last night, 7Pm walking into Main Street caf\u00c3\u00a9 for dinner and some tunes.<\/p>\n

Waitress: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Dinner?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

Me: “Yes, please. Can I sit here? (pointing to one of the many empty tables at the front)<\/p>\n

Waitress: “No that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s probably taken.”<\/p>\n

Me: (staring hard at all the empty tables now).” Probably? How about these?? Are they reserved?”<\/p>\n

Waitress: “Well no. (pause) But they might be\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6..”<\/p>\n

Me: (still confused\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 giving up)\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6\u00e2\u20ac\u009dOk. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll sit at the Bar.”<\/p>\n

Waitress: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Oh no, why don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t you sit here?” (points to the long table at the back where a man is already sitting)<\/p>\n

She pulls out the chair next to him\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

Me: \u00c2\u00a0“But the bar is fine. And he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sitting here?”<\/p>\n

Waitress: “It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ok. He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s single and very nice.”<\/p>\n

Me: “I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m just looking for dinner. Really. Nothing more.”<\/p>\n

Guy: \u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m married\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n
