After a long conversation late last night with both Hil and Matt from Bertha\u00c3\u00ads house, with Bertha laughing and her dog yelping in the background, that included a long string of how great this is and how much fun that was, I asked, \u00c3\u00acSo Matt, tell me exactly what incentive do you have to come home?<\/p>\n

\u00c3\u00acNone,\u00c3\u00ae he replied, and then launched into, \u00c3\u00acDad, we got to meet the president of Nicaragua in his building, and when the security guard asked for identification, Bertha just laughed at him and kept walking, and we were the only ones there, and Hil\u00c3\u00ads vomiting was Hilarious, and we\u00c3\u00adre having pizza tonight and they have the only yard we\u00c3\u00adve seen so far, and … .\u00c3\u00ae<\/p>\n

We\u00c3\u00adll all be at the airport Friday night. Will they?<\/p>\n

And Day Brought Back My Night<\/p>\n

It was so simple: you came back to me
\nand I was happy. Nothing seemed to matter
\nbut that. That you had gone away from me
\nand lived for days with him– it didn\u00c3\u00adt matter.
\nThat I had been left to care for our old dog
\nand house alone–couldn\u00c3\u00adt have mattered less!
\nOn all this, you and I and our happy dog
\nagreed. We slept. The world was worriless.<\/p>\n

I woke in the morning, brimming with old joys
\ntill the fact-checker showed up, late, for work
\nand started in: Item: it\u00c3\u00ads years, not days.
\nItem: you had no dog. Item: she isn\u00c3\u00adt back,
\nin fact, she just remarried. And oh yes, item: you
\nleft her, remember?<\/i> I did? I did. (I do.)<\/p>\n

\nChris\u00c3\u00ads parents took us to see The Finn Brothers (formerly Crowded House), Martin Sexton, and Angela McCluskey last Saturday night. There was an attractive couple in front of us who danced next to their chairs, but were prevented from using the wide open spaces next to us by the ever present security guards. Absurd.
