La Chica couldn’t fit all her stuff on the plane when she headed back to\u00c2\u00a0college after her semester in Mexico, so we were supposed to pack up a few\u00c2\u00a0last items. \u00c2\u00a0And then I recalled her saying that she can’t get “good”\u00c2\u00a0chocolate on campus. \u00c2\u00a0So I thought I’d stick some in the mailing tube with\u00c2\u00a0the posters. \u00c2\u00a0I had the posters all packed, prepared myself with a plastic\u00c2\u00a0zipper-type bag and stopped for the chocolate on the way to the post office.\u00c2\u00a0The chocolate bars did not fit in the mailing tube, so I tried to crack them\u00c2\u00a0down the middle, but then they didn’t fit in the baggie. \u00c2\u00a0(Yeah, I only\u00c2\u00a0brought one with me.) \u00c2\u00a0So I broke the bars up even more, stuffed it all in,\u00c2\u00a0threw away the wrappers, and sent it off 2-day delivery. \u00c2\u00a0And didn’t hear\u00c2\u00a0all week. \u00c2\u00a0So I asked if she’d opened the tube before leaving it on the\u00c2\u00a0heater for the week and her answer still makes me laugh:\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
I can’t believe I didn’t call and say thank you! \u00c2\u00a0It was actually way funny\u00c2\u00a0— I got the poster roll and was sitting on my bed, and S-A [roommate] was\u00c2\u00a0on hers, and I open it and I go “Hmm. \u00c2\u00a0This smells kind of funny…” \u00c2\u00a0And I\u00c2\u00a0keep sniffing it. \u00c2\u00a0And S-A is like “Well, what’s it smell like?” \u00c2\u00a0And I\u00c2\u00a0sniff again and say “Hm. \u00c2\u00a0Stale chocolate…” \u00c2\u00a0And I’m thinking to myself\u00c2\u00a0“Now, did Mom package this while she was in the cupboard, or what?!” \u00c2\u00a0And\u00c2\u00a0S-A goes “Well, is there chocolate in it?” \u00c2\u00a0Which just wasn’t a thought\u00c2\u00a0which had crossed my mind. \u00c2\u00a0And so then I turn over the tube and out falls\u00c2\u00a0some chocolate. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
I gather it didn’t wreck the posters, and she did enjoy eating it. \u00c2\u00a0So\u00c2\u00a0that’s good. \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
