{"id":1820,"date":"2007-02-15T17:52:04","date_gmt":"2007-02-15T22:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mainecourse.com\/mt\/?p=1820"},"modified":"2007-02-15T19:41:05","modified_gmt":"2007-02-16T00:41:05","slug":"update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mainecourse.com\/mt\/2007\/02\/15\/update\/","title":{"rendered":"Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"imagelink\" href=\"https:\/\/mainecourse.com\/mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/02\/Just beyond.jpg\" title=\"Just beyond.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"image1821\" src=\"https:\/\/mainecourse.com\/mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/02\/Just beyond.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Just beyond.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div>Michael,\u00c2\u00a0<\/div>\n<div \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>You&#8217;ve asked me for an update on my new life.\u00c2\u00a0 I am only too happy to share.\u00c2\u00a0 You have all shared so much I feel a kinship with you.<\/div>\n<div \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>The house is sold and as of 12-22 (yes, three days before Christmas)\u00c2\u00a0we are residents of Boxborough.\u00c2\u00a0 We have a renovated 3 bedroom apartment in an old farm house that feels very much like our old house.\u00c2\u00a0 Roomy and abutting conservation land, we have plenty of birds and wildlife as before.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;ve traded the noise of Rt 2 for a much quieter Rt 111 and are all very thankful.\u00c2\u00a0 The walls are painted warm and rich from the sterile white template landlords insist on, and the pictures are hung.\u00c2\u00a0 The floors are christened from the many teenage\u00c2\u00a0gatherings that happened over the Christmas break.\u00c2\u00a0 It felt like &#8220;ours&#8221; in a very short time.\u00c2\u00a0 Everyone who see it says it feels just like our old house, even though the colors are all different.\u00c2\u00a0 I guess it&#8217;s true what they say; &#8220;Home is where the heart is.&#8221;<\/div>\n<div \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>The girls were phenomenal during the last couple of months.\u00c2\u00a0 They approached the changes with hesitation and concern, but ultimately accepted the situation and demonstrated once again how mature they are.\u00c2\u00a0 Both gave it their all physically and emotionally and I couldn&#8217;t be more proud.\u00c2\u00a0 They never cease to amaze me with their flexibility.\u00c2\u00a0 They are my heroes.\u00c2\u00a0<\/div>\n<div \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>New challenges are upon me now.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve always been in reactionary roles.\u00c2\u00a0 A situation arises &#8211; I respond accordingly.\u00c2\u00a0 I find myself needing to actually &#8220;create proactively&#8221; now.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s wonderfully scary.\u00c2\u00a0 Hilary and Hannah are self sufficient which leaves me with lots of time to myself.\u00c2\u00a0 I went from 100 to 20mph in a very short time.\u00c2\u00a0 Now I have to find out what I like to do; what<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div>This picture (which I hope I uploaded correctly)\u00c2\u00a0hits the nail on the head for me.\u00c2\u00a0 The stress of the marriage is over.\u00c2\u00a0 The chaos of moving is over.\u00c2\u00a0 The holiday frenzy is over.\u00c2\u00a0 There is a brilliant, inviting light beckoning just beyond a few obstacles left in the way.\u00c2\u00a0 Even if those obstacles are never passed, the view is spectacular from where I stand.\u00c2\u00a0 As\u00c2\u00a0I sit here\u00c2\u00a0smiling at this expressive\u00c2\u00a0picture, I feel calm with just a little giggle of excited anticipation\u00c2\u00a0in my chest.
