The purpose of our meeting was not lunch, but the walk with Mr Schreiber\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s dog, Butter, who is likely to die in the next few months from an aggressive form of cancer. <\/p>\n<p>Mark S wondered how different Butter\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s experience of death, from our own. I sat back, scornful we could even \u00e2\u20ac\u0153go there,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d while others discussed consciousness, the experience of loss, what our last thoughts and actions would be, reporting back after the event, etc. We then cut our usual three hour lunch short by an hour and drove off to Great Meadows in Lincoln. <br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"butter_sm.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/mainecourse.com\/mt\/archives\/images\/butter_sm.jpg\" width=\"360\" height=\"365\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\nA contemplative pose?
