It was the first trip of my new tour company called Seeking the Sacred.  I was privileged to be a part of an amazing circle of 17 women from around the US and Britain.  My circle sisters and I spent 7 days experiencing the sights, sounds, tastes and mysteries of a beautiful medieval town and its Cathedral, which this year celebrated it&#8217;s 1000 year anniversary.  Dana Reynolds who facilitated the circle gave us this poem for one of our meditations and I wanted to share it with all of you.<\/p>\n<p>The Sacrament of Letting Go<\/p>\n<p>Slowly<br \/>\nshe celebrated the sacrament of<br \/>\nLetting Go&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>First she surrendered her Green<br \/>\nthen the Orange, Yellow, and Red.<br \/>\nFinally she let go of her Brown.<br \/>\nShedding her last leaf<br \/>\nshe stood empty and silent, stripped bare.<br \/>\nLeaning against the sky she began her vigil of trust.<\/p>\n<p>Shedding her last leaf<br \/>\nshe watched its journey to the ground.<br \/>\nShe stood in silence<br \/>\nwearing the color of emptiness,<br \/>\nher branches wondering:<br \/>\nHow do you give shade, with so much gone?<\/p>\n<p>And then, the sacrament of waiting began<br \/>\nThe sunrise and sunset watched with<br \/>\ntenderness, clothing her with silhouettes<br \/>\nthey kept her hope alive.<br \/>\nThey helped her understand that<br \/>\nher vulnerability<br \/>\nher dependence and need<br \/>\nher emptiness<br \/>\nher readiness to receive<br \/>\nwere giving her a new kind of beauty.<br \/>\nEvery morning and every evening<br \/>\nshe stood in silence and celebrated<br \/>\nthe sacrament of waiting.<\/p>\n<p>poem from &#8220;Seasons of Your Heart&#8221;<br \/>\nMacrina Wiederkehr, OSB<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tricia Kibbe I just returned from an incredible journey to Chartres, France.
