He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s eighty-two and never stops smiling, unless he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s discussing politics which I avoid like road kill.  He works because he likes people, and that can be a problem.  There is no whizzing by Georgia &#8211;  he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a talker, and sometimes the only relief is the truck that  pulls up behind mine.<\/p>\n<p>It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not that I mind our talks &#8211; they are always pleasant and he\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s always cheerful, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s just that in theory I have some other place I need to be.  This morning was a little different. Not in the length of our conversation, but in content.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153How\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s your sister?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I ask. (She has Alzheimer&#8217;s)<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153About the same. They gave her a new drug, but it didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t work. About the same.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m sorry to hear that.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153People can live for years with it.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>I thought it odd that he said \u00e2\u20ac\u0153people\u00e2\u20ac\u009d when we were talking about his sister.<\/p>\n<p>But then he opened up on me.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Life is fucking misery.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Life is what?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Fucking misery. You get sick, people get old, your wife leaves you, your kids leave you.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153What are you talking about?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I knew what he was walking about, cause he was singing my tune, but  his own song and dance has always been so upbeat. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You know what I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m talking about. Life is a one way street. We all know where it ends. I never used to think this, but If you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re young and you can have a good time, have it. If you see something you want &#8211; get it. Cause it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll all end anyway.<\/p>\n<p>I picked up my black  pack,  put it on the side of my face and leaned down onto the passenger side seat. From under the pack I cried, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Enough, enough.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153You don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to hear this?
