Also, we have Goose’s blog where he complains about a possible nearby dorm fire disturbing his sleep. But, like the pro he is, he takes the time to photograph the on-scene fire engine.
After poker last night I engaged Goose, Robby and Matthew in a four way video chat. This photo, taken by Matt, was much funnier in real time. No, I didn’t rotate the picture (in answer to adam) , it’s just us playing with software options. The black and white images come from a setting called threshold.

Bailey Island is a two and half hour drive from our house. We’d been here years ago when invited by Adam and Tricia, and, quite naturally, jumped at this most recent offer.
With every ocean visit we wonder why we didn’t invest in property twenty-five years ago. Shacks with a view sell for nearly a half million. The simple answer is we can’t afford it now and we couldn’t then.

Saturday night we ferried across to the Edgartown Wharf to dance to Johnny Hoy & The Bluefish. It’s too bad that we all liked them so much because from their website and Johnny’s introductory remarks, they seem to play almost exclusively on the Vineyard. Two tall guys, one of whom looks like a young Max Von Sydow, are playing ping pong on the porch of the Chappaquiddick Community Center while Diane reads and I upload this and check my email. It’s the nearest WiFi hotspot to Richard and Jacquie’s house. We’re all here for the weekend, with Steven and Karen and their two children, basking in the sun, swimming in the warm ocean and eating home grown tomatoes with fresh basil. Among other things.
The skies have cleared since yesterday’s fog and rain, and last night’s more-than-half moon remains visible in today’s blue sky. I’m listening to a biplane buzzing overhead, and feeling cool breezes at my back, and wondering how we can be stringing one perfect weekend away after another. Next up?
