Postcard From Chile
Michael,
My new friend Bob here is quite an interesting guy. He just got out of prison where he developed a mean right hook, but his inability to break a bad thumb sucking habit is holding back a promising career in boxing. And even more promising is a career in aviation as Bob swears that when he spins his head around as fast as he can, he can actually fly. I am skeptical but I don’t say anything as he still does have that right hook. Anyway, I told Bob you might get him a job as a roofer as with his talents he wouldn’t need a ladder, and let’s face it, he could use the money for a new pair of shoes. He’ll be giving you a call and hey – Don’t bother thanking me, that’s what friends are for.
Jock and Amelia
Whatever might a person say in a comment on this posting?!? Personally, I am flummoxed.

That might be your biggest compliment yet.

Every now and then, I remember a postcard I got in college. It was addressed to my grade school name, at my address, in handwriting that looked like that of grade school friends of mine, but signed with a name I couldn’t quite place and with a return address that didn’t quite make sense. It refered to incidents which I couldn’t quite remember.

Are you suggesting the guy above might have been the author?

Inspired by whatever a strangely-Snelled “Z-shot” is, the blogmeister zings one out of the low corner and leaves his courtmates flatfootedly watching it dribble unreturnably away …
But I have to say, that’s one of THE most bizarre images to travel up my optic nerve in awhile. And here I thought Keith Haring was being original … Yes, always remember to never forget your Deuteronomy.

I can’t be the only person to laugh at Jock’s remarks!
And how do you know Keith?

I’ve a strong visual memory, but here more for his “Mudman” photographs as by Annie Leibovitz, and not so much for his own doodly artwork (though I think I recall they made a fine, subtle contribution to Tom Robbins’ most excellent novels, “Jitterbug Perfume” and “Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas”).
A quick Google found this:
postershop.com/Leibovitz-Annie/Leibovitz-Annie-Keith-Haring-7200047.html (add your own dubdubdub),
but I also seem to recall but couldn’t find a similar treatment of him standing in a NYC streetscape, arguably more effective for the public nudity and chameleon-with-an-impossible task dissonance.

Put your hands on your head. Sorry, I needed to be the first.
