Smiling Faces
Hilary asked me to take photos of her and Cortney and then Matt happened by and squeezed in.

What a beautiful bunch of kids and photos. But do the names of the different photos actually help you distinguish among them?

When I saw these for the first time I was with Hilary on her last day in the country. She was leaving for her semester abroad later that afternoon, so I might have been just a squeak emotional to begin with, but I was unprepared for the torrent those photos unleashed.
It was an emotion similar to the first time you see your child on stage and they didn’t vomit from fright, got through their lines and actually enjoyed the experience. Your eyes well up with pride and you are genuinely happy that they are happy. But this was more.
I was feeling this immense pride at all their collective accomplishments. Joy at the prospect of their shining futures. Gratitude that they found such a high caliber of like minded individuals to spend their time with. Awe that they recognize how phenomenal a feat that actually is. Then a warmth spread through me as I felt through this photo the love they truly feel for each other.
