Tangerine Room

Emma and Matt chose the paint, and Jen and Emma slapped it on, and in one day I had a new downstairs bathroom. Oughta do something about the floor, the top, the sink and the cabinets, but now there’s no hurry. It looks terrrific.

  1. It does look terrific, on screen. But I’ll have to remember to wear my green, orange-blocking sunglasses when I visit in person next time!

  2. Love the color! How about a fruit basket full of tangerines for the top of the toilet to replace Lolita?

  3. NEVER replace Lolita … ! OR The Darwin Awards. Add a fruit basket if you wish, but let us keep clues to know where we are …

  4. Fruit in the bathroom? I don’t think so.

  5. Would plastic tangerines be acceptable?

  6. I think a plastic citrus fruit basket would be great. Do they still sell plastic limes and lemons with lime and lemon juice in them?

  7. Yes they do, Jennifer. That reminds me of my first shop lifting experience. When I was in 3rd grade in Ohio, my mom used to take us to the Ben Franklin 5 & Dime downtown. There were these mock living rooms set up with bowls of fruit on the coffee tables. The fruit looked so delicious that I worked up the nerve to reach over and pluck a grape and pop it in my mouth before anyone could see. To my great surprise, but not disappointment, it was a faux fruit bowl. I kept that little secret in my mouth all day, and felt empowered by its, and my, determination not to dissolve. Both because of our nature. (Yeah, there’s a story there that has yet to be written.) Each time we visited the store I would do the same. The moral of the story? I don’t know. You tell me.
