I’m feeling like Kathy (Cathy?) from Wisconsin (Michigan? Minnesota? jk, Wisconsin) who owns a bar, and it’s creeping me out. But I don’t have the … no, I’m not in the mood? to write something myself. Should I stop reading?
Wisconsin and with a “K”, but she was the one who creeped the blogmeister out — by scoping out he and his bro’ in sufficient focus to observe fraternal similarities from her perch on the eighth floor. I don’t get the reference — what is it now that’s bringing out the vacation voyeur/stalker in you, exactly … ?
I thought I spelled it out pretty clearly: I’ve been reading the blog but not writing. Feels like voyeur-ing. (Well, I suppose that’s like saying something tastes like s-it when actually I wouldn’t know.)
Oh, and maybe it’s because on top of that (the reading but not writing) I finally looked at a large folder of letters which I thought were from my uncle to my aunt around when they got a divorce in 1966, but it turns out half the stack is from my mother to my uncle on the subject of his marriage, divorce, and family life. I had decided to send them to my cousin without reading them but when I saw my mother’s letters I started reading and couldn’t stop. And now I don’t know what to do with them. I guess I’ll go hide them in a closet for another 3 or 40 years.
Hey, Matt, what’cha doing for your birthday? 21 is it?
Oops, I should have said that the letters aren’t just or even mostly about HIS marriage, divorce, and family life, in which I’m honestly not all that interested, but she uses her own family life and mothering style/goals to try and undercut the preachiness. It doesn’t exactly work, but it makes it interesting for her daughter.
I am so impressed with Charlie! What an amazing life he’s constructed for himself with the opportunities at hand. I go to his blog frequently but don’t often comment where I don’t know him at all. When I met his parents last night another piece of the Miller puzzle fell into place. I will follow his travels with new interest!

Hey, Jennifer, what are you doing for your birthday?

Mostly I’m mourning that last year I was perfect*, and now I’m not anymore. (a perfect square, anyway)
