  2. Oh, couldn’t you tell?

    Hey, pg, where’ve you been?

  3. Necessity is the mother of … discovering the zoom button on the browser. I think I recognized several people! Matt, Debbie, Hil B, Maley, and Cecelia. But of those you only know, who, Matt and Debbie? So — is Matt 3rd from the left, 4th row back, in an orange shirt? And Debbie same row, except then it’s the 5th row back, about 9 more people over? And HilB is (next to Maley) in the 2nd to last row, 12th over from the left. I’m really pretty sure of those two, because I know one so well. And since I found her–Ceci’s in the pink shirt pretty much in the middle, right, La Chica?

  4. Sarah T and Daryl in the upper left corner and Martin and Joe to the right of Ceci.

  5. Did I find Hil K? In front of Martin & Joe?

  6. Just to tell you — it’s not my computer which needs to Spring Forward. Mine says 8:39AM.

  10. Wow. I am so impressed you just found all of us….
It took me quite a while. But oh, oh man, what memories. 8th grade. Just hilarious.
One of my really vivid memories of the end of 8th grade is searching high and low for hot pockets in your basement, Michael and Diane, with Matt while Daryl waited upstairs.

  11. Hey there, mi’ja! How about answering an e-mail or two?

  12. I’m embarrassed to say how long it took me to find my own kid. Same row as Daryl, 12 to the right, black tank top next to Kenzie.

It’s amazing how young some mature faster than others. Kenzie still looks 11.

  13. So the girl in front of Martin and Joe wasn’t Hil K. Yeah, mom, I guess you’re right, and you found Kenzie too!

    What are hot pockets?

  14. And don’t forget Kathy, 3 rows back from Debbie and one person picture-left. But where are Drew, Cortney and Celeste? I see 3 or 4 maybes but am not convinced …

  16. oh my. the pointing out of where i am is pretty unecessary…haha junior high were not the best years

    Comment by Debbie — March 13, 2007 @ 11:20 am

  17. I think Cort is in the same row as Sarah T, seven over in the mostly white shirt.

  18. But why were they searching for hot pockets in the basement? Is it like hunting for Easter eggs, or more like “go get the chips, they’re in the cabinet, no, more to the left–yeah on the top shelf, no, THOSE are 3 years old, we should throw those out”?

    Comment by jennifer — March 13, 2007 @ 7:36 pm

  19. Searching my have been a convenient verb, or may speak to how crowded our freezer used to be. Anyway, Hotpockets were in high demand by Matt and Co. during their formative years.

  20. Oh, you have a FREEZER in the basement. See, it’s the simple things I don’t understand.

I just remembered what it was a student said that I’m still trying to figure out. She asked why the cross-sectional diagram of Earth we’d been working with showed Earth’s surface as a curve. I’m still not sure what she meant. I picked up the globe and asked if she knew it was a model of the Earth. She said she did — but what would you say?
