to the blogger: thanks(?) for posting this … I haven’t been paying enough attention. Actually, I’ve been trying NOT to pay attention because I can’t stand it, but being in denial is probably worse for my health. But it’s pretty terrifying to really look at what’s going on.
I read the transcript of the Tony Snow show in the Wash P. Scary guy, because he’s so facile and friendly appearing. If Bush had hired him earlier, we might be looking at a 3rd term.
I couldn’t believe he said it. This is supposed to be the smartest guy in the room, able to extemporaneously out-navigate a fiercely intelligent, often antagonistic room. And I can’t believe they didn’t react. Probably they couldn’t believe it either … In many senses, though, he’s absolutely perfect for the role and represents W well. Alas.
I stayed up late last night and watched the Jon Stewart clip (at least the first 1/3 of it, which loaded in about 15 min, despite the best efforts of the cicadas chewing on the phone line). Hilarious. But the Bush minions are frightening!
I’ll bet Polly’s (Linda’s Mom, a retired UUA Minister active in promoting Unitarianism and good works around the world) in their sights, with her calls to Pakistan!
And anyone that makes calls to Polly, Michael! BEWARE!
These fascists are all criminals.

His ” I don’t want to hug the tar baby… ” quote is a perfect illustration of a conservative, privileged, clueless white guy.
