Dan tells me they had twenty inches in Lincoln while that table covered with snow measures about sixteen. I had to plow twice which is exactly two times too many.

That table wuz robbed by the winds …
Isolated and elevated, it could never drift UP in depth but could certainly be bled by winds away to elsewhere. I buy Dan-O’s higher estimate, not just for its indisputable veracity and refined accuracy, but for the enhanced long-sufferingness bestowed upon us iterative shovelers by the increased accumulation estimate. Two storms, separated by but an evening’s halftime respite, and followed by aeolian redistribution of the notable arboreal repositories is entirely too much for one weekend.
But blessed be the pajamaed who frolic in its pristine frigidness! (And cursed the rep who penalized the Wondrous Welker for his endzone snow angel … !)

Gadzooks! 20 inches! Katie & I are envious (but not Beth), and we have itchy XC-ski feet! We hope to find an equal abundance of the powdery white back in Boulder this weekend when we return. In the meantime, we’re enjoying the Indian Summer of Silver Spring, MD at 4-month-old Luke’s home. (Sorry, Michael, but it really is quite warm down here in subtropical Maryland.)
