Doomed(?) Tulips

Michael,

We have pretty tough tulips out here. When I first shot this weekly/daily/hourly sequence of the tulips in our front yard, I thought the tulips were doomed by the ice storm and snowfall on Easter weekend. But on Easter Monday, they revived and are still thriving.

  1. As I was flipping through your flower photos I thought how nice it must be to be retired. Then I thought, I wonder if that’s what people think when they see mine?

  2. Rakk, did you know you’d be time-lapsing this, or is it just by chance you got the early buds, then their ordeal by snow?

Mike, there’s a difference betwen retired and AWOL …

  3. Except for the sequence of the tulips opening (nos. 2, 3 & 4), it was mostly serendipitous. But now that I’ve seen the result, I’ll try to do more.

As for “retirement”, I’m still working (professionally) about 1/3 time…which is just about a perfect level.
