Music Festival

kate_band.jpg

Kate played in the New Hampshire Music Festival which featured the best band members from all the state’s high schools. Photos weren’t permitted while songs were performed – we were told it was too dangerous – but I snapped a few before, after and at our celebratory dinner.

FierceBaby, who flew out from Minnesota for the forty-five minute performance, leaves this morning.

  1. Kate you are a beautiful, talented young woman. Congratulations on all your college acceptances (you have proud aunties) and for being one of your states best band members. And for your new hair too!

  2. Kate and her bandmates were really quite spectacular! I went expecting a lot of oompapas and got instead, amongst a quartet of very nice pieces that included only one Sousa march, a most difficult and lovely piece called “Immigrant Dreams” played exquisitely. Well worth the journey. But, of course, even if there had been only oompapas, were they played by my godgirl, the journey would have been more than worthwhile.
