Seems a bit Pavlovian after awhile, but the kid has a great laugh — open and whole-hearted. As long as it’s not symptomatic of some malady (now is that a cynical thing to wonder, or what … ?), godbless ‘im!
Even the most cynical can enjoy a baby’s laugh. When was the last time you really let go and belly laughed? Me? Day before yesterday with a good friend over a nice bottle of sake in my favorite city.
The time I remember was when a friend asked me if I’d officiate at her wedding. I was so relieved she wasn’t asking me to be a bridesmaid. Others at the restaurant were looking at us, reminding me of the scene in … darn, what’s that movie with Meg Ryan from about 20 years ago, when she imitates herself faking an orgasm? Anyway, I was laughing so hard when my friend came out and asked the question which she had built up to (I knew it was some favor regarding her wedding) that people were looking over at us and I expected someone to say they’d have what I was having, which made me laugh harder. The thing that’s funny (both odd and very amusing) about the baby laughing is there’s some of that self-consciousness to it too … but surely that’s not possible.
I’m sorry I missed the belly-laugh part of Saturday. I don’t think that coming in third (our first time) at the state Science Olympiads the next day makes up for it but I’ll brag about that anyway, and it was why I needed to go home early.
Saturday night was a plethora of emotions. We did belly laugh and a few tears were shed as well as we discussed parental issues after a silly game of Apples to Apples. It was a polar night!
Congrats to your class Jennifer! That’s something to be proud of.
Thank you. Of course, about 1/3 of the teams didn’t show up due to confusion / difficulty with the snow date … but maybe they weren’t contenders for the top spots anyway.

11 million views kinda says it all. I’ve never seen a number that high.
But, Jen, didn’t we all have belly laughs as you described towards the end of Saturday’s gatthering?
