  2. Louie, your Mom would be over the moon about this. Well done, Cookie Bird.

  4. Two of my girls Hannah and Allie (step daughter) just did this last month! I did this a couple of years ago in support of my birth mother who was going through breast cancer. Funny how we are about hair… My mom went through the surgery and all the post treatmeents emotionally fine, but when she started to loose her hair she totally fell apart. Loosing a portion of her anatomy was nothing to her. It seems that her identity was somehow intricately woven into her hair that was falling out in clumps. I flew to Florida and we went to a stylist who had to buzz cut me to get the minimally accepted 10 inches. We looked like twin cancer patients! I must admit that it was shocking and not very becoming, but I loved the story behind it and the bonding that was cemented. A year later Hannah did it for the first time.

Great job, Emma! If you have a “before” pic, I’d love to see it.

  5. Emma’d kill you for this picture, and you know it. (It shows her “double chin.”) It’s ok though, I won’t tell her.

  6. Double chin?? That’s a dimple! Quite a cute one, too.
