I'm Back

And to show that I’m still able to pat myself on the back here is (in my opinion) just about the coolest birthday cake anyone could receive. I’ve got to give myself a stroke or two when something goes right, because my sneak delivery of seven pints of Graeter’s ice cream to Matt’s room at Temple didn’t work out so well. They arrived on a Saturday (promised on Friday) and sat in a locked mail office until the following Monday.

The photo is of Charlie and his dad on the Vineyard. To the right of the cake are links to Charlie’s Thanksgiving photos.

  1. Now THAT’s printer I’d like to see … ! Wonder where you buy the “inks” — Staples or Williams-Sonoma?

A nice Thanksgiving gallery, PG, including a rare sighting of the elusive MM, otherwise chasing Sasquatch for pole position in the least-photographed derby.

  2. Glad you are re-surfacing. We got one of those cakes for Mark’s parents 45th anniversary and put their wedding picture on it. My father-in-law had the same hair style as he did on his wedding day.

  3. See, that’s why I hate all but very little surprises. There you are, getting more and more annoyed at the person giving the surprise because they (apparently) aren’t paying the kind of attention that you deserve. And, as the person perpetrating the surprise, you can’t defend yourself without ruining the surprise. What happened to the mail room? And to the recipient of the mess?

  4. I should have alerted Matt to his in-coming surprise. He had time to snag the ice cream before it turned to soup, but he had no idea Father Time had the enclosed dry ice by the short hairs.

  5. It’s the thought that counts. Okay, in this case maybe not. I’ve been home, where’s my Graeters?
