An important time in my son Dash’s life occurred when he went to the big, annual SOA protests as a college student. The trip to Georgia was an important component in his becoming the world citizen that he is today. Thanks to Hil B!
adam
SOA somehow escaped my notice while at Harvard — though truth be told, in the late 70’s/early 80’s there wasn’t much in the way of protest on campus at all that I recall. Still, awfully late to be learning of its existence, I admit … Speak truth to power, Hil!

Are there certain schools that participate in those protests? Oberlin and Depauw and ? That is a very nicely done video and a serious as the event is, I had to laugh at the guy with the upside down joint compound bucket.
La Rad
I’m with Adam, never heard of it. I’ll have to read up on it.

An innocuous name, but imperialism at its worst. (I desist, lest I rant.)

Apparently there’s been a slow but steady increase in the number of protesters — 22,000 at this year’s (annual) event. That’s up from 14,000 around 5 years ago when my father went.

That’s my Hil B – out there changing the world!
It was so nice to see everyone this thanksgiving, I can’t wait till we’re all home for Christmas! Three weeks is nothing compared to the three months we’ve already survived.
matt
So it has now been five days since your last post?
what the hell is going on

{Matt, Your dad’s been deathly ill for a week+}.
Paint me dumb, along with I’m with Adam and La Rad.

GO HilB! And thanks for educating us!
