Patrick Ties The Knot
Michael,
While Matt was moving into Temple, Patrick was getting married to his lovely and effervescent fiancee Georgia Williams. We took lots of pictures of the exciting event, but haven’t gotten our pictures out yet. Fortunately our
friend Lynn Kenny has beat us to the punch and posted a pile of pictures to posted by michael at 6:59 am
As I said to Diane, “Everybody looks so happy.” Her reply, “They’re at a wedding you idiot.” And as Diane said, “How could this have happened?” As in where have all the years gone and isn’t he too young to get married?
Hmmm, I seem to need to add Diane’s comment for her. Probably because she won’t have time to view these wonderful photos since she spends all her waking hours reading that one short comment from her otherwise silent son.
Heartwarming wedding, indeed, but I was rather looking forward to seeing rakkity in something less than a normal pose. Like with his arm tied behind his back or over his head or with three physical therapists in tow. You all healed and ready to do battle with P again?

So nice to see all that joy abounding! And interesting to compare the approach to this Schmahl wedding to the one starring the rakkitys featured on the blog not so very long go. Lovely both, but so different.

Great pictures, Schmahl friends.
Georgia is lovely. As is Patrick, of course, and suddenly, somehow, old enough to be married. Yikes.

“all healed and ready to do battle?” Funny, I was just discussing that very thing with Patrick at the reception. However, I haven’t healed sufficiently to defeat the Mrs on the verbal issue of playing racquetball with anybody, anytime, ever. Maybe I should contrive to get her back onto the court again (she and I played back around ought’80), and move forward from that point.

Love the camera story…in fact LaRad lives for stories such as these. Love the brides dress, both her wedding dress and the one she changed into. Cheers to the newlyweds and to you on your new, extended family. Your reference to the new bride as “our dear Georgia” brought a tear to my eye.
