I was working at one of the condominiums when this hummingbird knocked himself silly flying into a glass sliding door. He sat dazed long enough for me to snap his pic from about three inches. When I finished he flew away. The nail heads gives good size perspective.

WELL done!!! Bravo! Bravo! Sorry the little guy hurt [him?]self, glad [it’s] alright, but impressed that your CCD was near at hand and that you had the instincts & reflexes to get those images. I particularly like the one from above (though the opener’s SO perfectly centered……).

That’s the first picture I’ve ever seen of a live hummingbird without its wings in a blur! Is that the way they perch, just sitting on their butt?
Or do they ever “perch”? Maybe he was so dazed he couldn’t stand on his feet.
