Belief-O-Matic

Take the Belief-O-Matic test

Here are my results:

1.  Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2.  Liberal Quakers (96%)
3.  Neo-Pagan (85%)
4.  Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (85%)
5.  Secular Humanism (74%)
6.  Taoism (74%)

The warning signs on our street have gone, so this is it for mountain lion updates. The latest theories are : an exotic pet release, a Bobcat, or a big dog. The best are individual reactions. Here are two emails I’ve received, both from women:

“I was just talking to my friend (who sent the track photos and like me, is wild about wildlife...) and said to him, "This is like a hurricane. There are those who put plywood on their windows, buy out the grocery store, and hunker down at home. Then, there are the storm-chasers, who go for a walk on the beach as the hurricane approaches.........With this mountain lion, there are those who yell at me to stop walking my dog and get inside....and then there are people LIKE me, who walk along the tracks, with dog, hoping for a sighting and wishing I carried some bacon for bait!!"

and

(Remy is her dog)

“Remy has been taken by his grandmother to Cambridge for a few days.  She was concerned about his safety in light of the mountain lion.  Somehow she did not seem as concerned about my plight as the person attached to the other end of the leash!”

Looks like we're pretty much on the same wavelength.
1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Liberal Quakers (97%)
3. Secular Humanism (94%) h
4. Theravada Buddhism (89%) h
5. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (88%)
6. Neo-Pagan (77%)

I'm also in tune with the people "who walk along the tracks, with dog, hoping for a sighting and wishing I carried some bacon for bait!!"

Now is that Unitarian/Humanist/Buddhist/NeoPagan
or what?

Others who take the test will see that the list of matches runs far past six. I cut mine off before #7 Southern Baptist, #8 Fundamentalist Old Testament-Thumping Christian, #9 Republican, ... .

I'm jealous.I want your # 4.

I consider myself to be Secular Humanist Cultural Catholic. So I have two questions:
1) How is it that my results on the religion selector quiz are #1 Liberal Quaker (100%) and #27 Roman Catholic (16%)?
2) Given my 400 years of Catholic school education, how many nuns are flipping in their graves?

Posted by Auntiesue.

Is it just a coincidence?

#1 - Liberal Quaker (100%)

#27 - Roman Catholic (22%)

Posted by shinydome.

Is it just a another coincidence?
My husband and I are Unitarian Universalist, #1 and Roman Catholic, #27, unless he's joshing me.
And just think, we actually got married in a Unitarian Universalist Church and our child was dedicated as such. What coherence.

Uh oh! Shinydome and I were also married in a Unitarian Universalist Church, so why do we test Quacker? 'Tis a puzzlement.

Or Quaker for you purists.

I'd'a ordered it differently if 'twere by choice, but apples and trees will tell, perhaps -- still, my #1 sorta shocks me......... (Not as much as 6 & 7, though -- and I extended to 10, just to get my Neo-New-New freak on!). Mikey made 6 & 7 seem symbolic, but maybe 1's are boondoggles, and our 4's are where we live.

1.  Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
2.  Unitarian Universalism (91%)
3.  Liberal Quakers (90%)
4.  Secular Humanism (82%)
5.  Bahá'í Faith (76%)
6.  Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (75%)
7.  Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (66%)
8.  Neo-Pagan (66%)
9.   New Age (57%)
10.  New Thought (53%)

I wrote to Polly Guild, our favorite Unitarian minister, and asked her to take the test. I was hoping she would be revealed to be a Catholic, but she answered: "I expect you are into Beliefnet.com test.... Ya - I come out Unitarian too. No surprise there."

First of all, i was so grateful to have scored anything at all on this test. I thought for sure I had wandered so far from anything and low and behold I got 100% Liberal Quaker and 99% Unitarian. My actual faith I even came in at 43% even though I am quite sure that in actuality it would be much lower than that. So there's hope. Of course when one blames all the wrongness in the world on the Yankees (the NY kind) one could assume that I didn't take it seriously, but I truly did, needing to go back to it several times before answering. I even got a high score with reformed judaism. I am on some kind of high with this. Perhaps a spiritual one. Who knew.
