Paxie
Linda finally found, and brought home yesterday, her birthday present.
Meet the newest member of our family -- a very cute female toy poodle -- 8 weeks old, 2 pounds!
She's overjoyed at joining a nice family and having a big brother. Remo's been very tolerant, but is not yet ready to play or show her the ropes.
So, cute. What's her name?

What was the name of that exam, again, and what eye conditions might it produce?
Posted by notsmarteither.The disease is Progressive Retinal Atrophy - PRA -similar to retinitus pigmentosa in humans. It is genetic. Several breeds are susceptible, among them all varieties of poodle. It causes first night blindness (which our Duffy has) and then total blindness. The progression is inevitable; only the start time and rate of deterioration vary. As of about two years ago, they can do DNA testing to identify those dogs who should be spayed or neutered so as not to pass the gene to yet another generation. The test is from the Optigen company and most reputable poodle breeders now test potential breeding bitches and sires before allowing them to make puppies.
