Photos of relatives yet to be identified sent to me by Susan of Torroemore. .
Somebody takes good care of their heirlooms..... These photos are in such pristine condition they might well have been historical poses in modern theme parks. And it is apparent the Earleigh comes from a fine lineage!
Posted by no archivist.Earleigh, I take it these photos are your father's relations? I ask because in pulling up the Fallon photo there is not an updo among them, not a hat in the group. Still, they seem to be from the same era. These three pictures give me pause to wonder about the ladies...Lady #1 has a lovely locket on...I wonder whose picture is in it. The parasol looks as if it is a prop, but I bet the hat is hers. And I love her long gloves. Lady 2 has quite the plume on her hat. She appears to be wearing a cross on her much covered high neck. Lady 3 is the rebel of the group...no hat here and her neck is exposed. Her locket is heart shaped and she has her pretty bracelets and rings on skin, not over gloves. A generation apart from the others perhaps? They are lovely and fun to look at. Thanks for sharing.
Posted by wonder.Wonder, these actually are Fallons of some sort. That lace curtain picture was taken, I have learned, somewhere between 1916 and 1920, precisely when the Fallon girls, who were very fashion minded, would have had their long locks bobbed. These three photographs may have been taken some years earlier. I believe the girls are of the same generation, because of the covers (which show the name of the photographer and address of the studio) in which the photos have been kept all these years. These may have been their formal coming of age portraits. However, there was at least 15 years between the eldest and youngest Fallon daughters, which could explain the hat, no hat, etc.
