Esteli

Hillary and her parents shared a potlucky dinner with us last night, and we discussed in some detail, the proposed trip to Esteli Nicaragua. Matt and Hillary are planning to spend four weeks in Esteli, where they will learn Spanish in the morning, and engage in volunteer work in the afternoons. Here’s the
website

Great plan. Sounds like a mini-peace corps gig.
Good for Matt & Hillary, good for Nicauragua.

Buena suerte!

Vayan! Sera muy bien!

Dear Carlos,

Is this what you meant?

" That good program! To go to Espana the last anus was one of my better experiences, and was very good to improve my espanol. It can be that you can send electronicos post office with your news in espanol to Diane and to Susan so that they can try to deciferar them. Go! Sera very well!"

Because if so, one has to wonder what one's anus has to do with it. Has to do with it.

Posted by huh?.

(Misguided rebuke of misinterpreted "attacker" on Carlos' earnest but rough Spanish withdrawn in a lapse in the Cat's usual lack of better judgement.)

Posted by another point of view.

Now my head is spinning. I thought huh was demonstrating the deficiencies - humorous in most instances - of those inadequate online translator programs.

Heh Carlos,
Remember when one translator told Huh? something like "the elevator went through the roof" and another told me that the very same sentence said, "the pool is in the ceiling," or when both told us that "several people lost themselves."?

With our total lack of Spanish, we had such great fun with your emails and the online dictionaries and translators. By the end of your stay, not only had we enjoyed your visit vicariously, we had actually learned something. (What, I am not sure.) So, I truly hope H and M will write regularly and in Spanish, so we can try again.
